Introduction to the Doolittle Method of Queen Rearing

Renowned author, entomologist and beekeeper Dr. Larry Connor brings his latest queen rearing course to Ohio

Dr. Larry Connor, author of Queen Rearing Essentials, Bee Sex Essentials, Increase Essentials, Bee-sentials and frequent contributor to the American Bee Journal and Bee Culture, is coming to WCOBA.  Connor will lead a three day “show and do” course in queen rearing that will include a blend of classroom instruction and apiary field exercises.  The course will introduce students to the Doolittle Method of Queen Rearing with a focus on production of mite-resistant, locally adapted queens.  WCOBA is pleased to offer our members and the beekeeping community access to Connor’s course.  This class is recommended for beekeepers with at least three years of beekeeping experience. This course will be held on May 15, 16 & 17, 2014 at the Community Center, 7818 CR 49, Belle Center, OH (Map It) with field exercises conducted in a nearby apiary.  Course fees are $330 and includes meals.  A non-refundable registration deposit of $100 will be required to secure registration.  Full payment of fees will be due one week prior to the date of the class.
