Guernsey Noble Beekeepers Beginner’s Beekeeping Class

Objective:  Learn about the basics of beekeeping, and honey

collection.

We will be utilizing the book “Simple Smart Beekeeping” by

Kirsten Traynor, and PHD and Michael Traynor.

You will learn what equipment is needed, how to handle honey

bees, creating a Healthy Hive,potential problems for our bee

population and resources from our local bee club to assist you

in getting started.

Sessions: There will be two sessions in the beginner’s

beekeepers class.   There will be a 5 hour classroom session

(9am to 2 pm) on Saturday, February 02th at  Southeast

Regional Extension Office and a 2 hour on-site session at Don

Crock’s apiary at a later day.

           

Cost:$35.00 includes book, membership to the Guernsey

Noble Beekeepers Association and other incidentals. For

additional persons in same household a fee of $10.00 per

person.
