The USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant allows OSBA to provide up to 700 complimentary Apiary Diagnostic Kits to new Ohio Beekeepers to help increase their monitoring skills.
- Have taken and completed a 2018 or 2019 beginner beekeeping class. Proof of class is required unless we have a class list provided by your instructor. The class must be at least 4 hours long provided by a local beekeeping association in Ohio, or at least 6 hour class given by other organizations. The class may take place over multiple days.
- Proof of current Ohio Apiary Registration apiary registration certificate issued by the Ohio Department of Agriculture
- Proof of Woodenware (complete hive) or Bee purchase (receipt for purchase of bees or equipment)
- Commitment to fill out short online monthly surveys throughout 2018 and 2019 regarding your hive visits.
